Nick ‘Honey Badger’ Cummins and his partner Alexandra George have scored a $2.61 million property windfall, trading in their luxury riverfront home for the ‘country life’.
The popular international rugby player turned reality TV star built the stylish four-bedroom, three-bathroom entertainer in upmarket Broadbeach Waters in 2020.
But the following year the couple splashed $3.275m on a sprawling Hinterland parcel, where they are raising their young family.
“I’ve decided to live the country life and therefore I will sadly have to let go of this beautiful home,” Cummins shared with followers.
“This is the most entertaining feel-good house I’ve lived in and it’s up for auction!”
The double-storey Broadbeach Waters house was marketed by Corey Bedford and Claire Dai, and sold under the hammer contested by four registered bidders.
Auctioneer Rob Doorey stood near the river’s edge on the home’s expansive entertaining deck fielding bids, pausing the auction for negotiations with the highest bidder, before an increased offer of $2.6m was announced.

An underbidder then snatched the keys by topping that bid by just $10,000 after Mr Doorey’s second call. The auctioneer invited a counterbid even at $1000, but the other buyer was out.
“You just did a Steven Bradbury. Congratulations!” Mr Doorey said as he wrapped up the sale for $2.61m.
The home on a 55 sqm lot had 18m of frontage to a quiet inlet off Main River, and was described in the listing as a “turn-key lifestyle property” with its own private pontoon for cruising the waterways.
Open-plan living areas accented with warm timber lead outside to an expansive al fresco entertaining area complete with a fire pit and heated spa overlooking the water.
Back inside, the master bedroom has a private balcony and ensuite with freestanding tub, while the other three bedrooms and a large family room are also upstairs.
An office and home cinema are on the ground level, where walnut cabinetry and a stone island bench along with a butler’s pantry feature in the designer kitchen.
Records show Cummins paid $775,000 for the property in 2019 and demolished an existing 1970s house to make way for the new build.
House prices in Broadbeach Waters were up 9.1 per cent over the past 12 months to a median of $2.1m.
Cummins, 36, is a former Wallabies winger whose most memorable TV stints include starring in the sixth season of The Bachelor Australia.
He and Ms George welcomed their first son in 2022.
