Wedding on top of 19 Arran Avenue, Hamilton

An Art Deco home in inner Brisbane is attracting buyers left right and centre with its charm and timelessness.

Commissioned by the father of eminent Brisbane author David Malouf, 19 Arran Ave, Hamilton is arguably one of Brisbane’s best examples of Art Deco architecture.

For buyers who love the Art Deco 19 Arran Ave, Hamilton will captivate.

Current owner Ran Meretz said there has been a legacy of previous owners of the home staying in contact as the baton is passed on.

“I’m good friends with the previous owner,” Mr Meretz said.
“Some friends of mine have always loved the house, you would think you were in the Hollywood 1940s, they wanted to get married on the roof and was very special.”

Mr Meretz said while he wasn’t sure what was next in his property journey he hoped whoever purchased the home would appreciate it as much as he has.

“I think anyone would buy it would fall in love with it, it’s unforgettable, once you love it you just love it. It’s not one of these houses that is forgotten, it’s as if you’re the caretaker of that house,” he said.

Eight skylights and mature trees, gardens and landscaping creates a tranquil setting for prospective buyers.

“It’s a privilege to be here whoever buys it will get that feeling.

“I will miss the garden of the home, it’s a bit like a garden oasis. The whole garden was developed back in the 40s you wouldn’t know you were in the middle of city.”

Place Ascot and Nundah director Drew Davies said Art Deco is timeless architecture and it’s replicated in many assets today.

“We’ve had a broad range of interested buyers from downsizers to young couples interested in the property,” Mr Davies said.
